JustWatch Launches Its Own Streaming Service, Moving From Search to Playback

The entertainment discovery guide now offers playback through three separate viewing options.

JustWatch launched JustWatch TV on October 20, adding direct playback to the streaming guide’s website and apps. The service offers three separate catalogues: TV Free, with ads; TV Store, offering individual movie rentals; and TV Plus, a subscription for an ad-free selection, TheWrap reports.

JustWatch’s own service guide says free viewing requires no account, while renting or subscribing requires users to sign in. These options are not interchangeable: finding a title through the wider JustWatch guide does not establish that it is included with Plus.

The change makes JustWatch a viewing destination as well as a discovery tool. For viewers, the practical question remains title-specific: is the film available free, rented separately, included with Plus or offered by another service?
