Jon Stewart will remain at THE DAILY SHOW through December 2028, providing some stability for Comedy Central’s flagship late-night program under Paramount’s new ownership.

In an October 19 announcement, Skydance Television confirmed that Stewart will continue hosting Monday episodes and serving as executive producer.

The arrangement does not mark a return to Stewart’s old nightly schedule. Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic will continue sharing hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday.

Stewart originally hosted the political comedy program from 1999 to 2015 before returning in February 2024 on a once-weekly basis.

The agreement also resolves uncertainty about his immediate future with the network following Paramount’s change in ownership. As the Los Angeles Times reported, the extension keeps Stewart in place through the next presidential election cycle.

For viewers, the practical takeaway is simple: Stewart is staying, and THE DAILY SHOW’s current hosting arrangement remains intact.
