Chris Pratt says Peter Quill, better known as Star-Lord, is not finished with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Speaking on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast, the actor described conversations with Marvel executives Kevin Feige and Lou D’Esposito and said tangible steps have been taken toward bringing the character back.

That is a stronger statement than a general willingness to reprise the role, but it does not amount to an announced project.

Pratt declined to say when Star-Lord would appear again, and Marvel has not identified a specific film or series for his return.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 ended with an explicit promise that Star-Lord would return. Pratt’s latest comments indicate that the promise remains active, even as the character’s place in Marvel’s upcoming releases is still undisclosed.

Fans have confirmation of intent from the actor.

They do not yet have a title or release date, and speculation about a particular AVENGERS film should not be confused with an announcement.
