CRYSTAL LAKE appears to be giving Peacock a major horror-season success.

According to figures reported exclusively by TheWrap on October 30, the FRIDAY THE 13TH prequel generated 1.7 billion viewing minutes across its first 14 days on the platform. That represents an increase from the 1.3 billion minutes NBCUniversal reported for the series’ first 11 days, adding approximately 400 million viewing minutes across the following three days.

The reported result ranks CRYSTAL LAKE fourth among Peacock’s scripted originals by the platform’s cumulative viewing-minutes benchmark. It also highlights the continued drawing power of one of horror’s most recognizable franchises.

The eight-episode series debuted October 15 and stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees.

Rather than simply repeating Jason Voorhees’ familiar movie formula, the prequel explores an earlier chapter of the franchise’s mythology. The distinction matters for Peacock.

A famous horror name might bring viewers to the premiere, but sustained viewing over two weeks suggests continued interest beyond opening-day curiosity.

That does not mean Season 2 is guaranteed.

Peacock has not confirmed another season, and viewing minutes alone do not reveal how many unique subscribers watched or whether the company considers the series profitable.
